Understanding the critical nature of subsurface conditions and associated risks is essential to every infrastructure project. We work alongside you as the project develops from conception through final design and construction. We provide continuous refinements to the geotechnical design as necessary for proper project implementation. The result: optimal solutions that minimize the risk of cost overruns and time delays.
We specialize in solutions for foundations, underground construction, earth structures, groundwater resources, foundation rehabilitation, and marginal building sites.
What You Can Expect
- Extensive Project Experience
We've completed more than 1,000 subsurface and geophysical projects across the U.S. – from small programs for simple structures to large programs for complex dams, highways, bridges, and underground structure projects.
- Industry Leadership
Our staff members have written 100s of papers and presented at conferences worldwide. As the authors of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Grouting Technology manual, we literally “wrote the book” on grouting technology.
We’ve pioneered one of the best examples of geotechnical innovation: IntelliGrout®. This state-of-the-art technology has been used to grout foundations on some of the highest risk dams in the world.
- Qualified Team
Our geotechnical engineering staff includes nearly 85 engineers, geologists, and hydrogeologists, many with advanced degrees in their specialties. Nearly 70 members of our staff are registered professional engineers or geologists, and more than 25 have been with us for at least 20 years.
- Safety and Quality
Safety and quality are priority concerns; we ensure projects are completed right the first time. During the last 15 years, we have provided technical services on four of the six U.S. Army Corps of Engineers national priority dam safety projects.
- Training and Education
In addition to our high-quality geotechnical services, we also provide monitoring, instruction, and training.
