Engineering News-Record (ENR) New York honored the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) Design-Build Johnson Avenue Yard project with a Best Projects 2017 Award of Merit in the Airport/Transit category.

Gannett Fleming’s Ken Cho, PE, ENV SP, led resident engineering services for construction management of the LIRR Johnson Avenue Yard reconfiguration on the south side of busy Jamaica Station in Queens, N.Y. Project Manager Chuck Norrish, PE, vice president and Northeast Region construction manager, will accept the award at the Best Projects 2017 awards banquet on Sept. 27 in New York City. The Johnson Avenue Yard project also earned a Platinum Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York in the 2017 Engineering Excellence Awards.
