Gannett Fleming named Huzefa Irfani, AIA, to the role of Architectural Practice leader. His primary responsibilities include strengthening the practice’s presence in the firm’s 60 offices across the nation by implementing innovative technologies, providing technical guidance, and enhancing quality across operations.
“Huzefa, who will continue in his role as architecture organization manager in New York, played a critical role in the creation of the Architectural Practice Leadership Team (PLT) and in creating a discipline specific to its quality assurance and control program,” said Paul Nowicki, PE, president and COO. “He will leverage the diverse talents of this team of creative, innovative thought leaders to design more livable communities while also providing the highest quality customer service.”
Irfani is a 30-year industry veteran with a focus on leading multidisciplinary teams from design through implementation. In his role as a Gannett Fleming senior project architect, he has managed several marquee projects, including the Long Island Rail Road Expansion Project Preliminary Design and Environmental Impact Statement, the relocation of the Delaware River Port Authority Transit Corporation’s Control Center, and the storm hardening of 14 fan plants in various locations for the New York City Transit Authority.
Irfani earned a Bachelor of Architecture from the New York Institute of Technology and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.
