For the ninth consecutive year, staff members from the Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, office volunteered their time to “Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful.” The team of four spent a day picking up litter and debris from the State Route 30/322 Interchange in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, to make the area cleaner and safer.

Yuwen Li, PE, and Ted Roehrig, PE, both Structures Division project managers, Scott Hughes, PE, the Water/Wastewater Department manager, and Dan Kucz, PE, a structural engineer, participated in the cleanup efforts on May 3, 2014, as part of the Great PA Cleanup.

Sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), the Great PA Cleanup is an annual statewide event held each spring. The department provides trash bags and safety vests to participants. After the event, PennDOT maintenance crews collected the trash and disposed it in approved landfills.
