Gannett Fleming reached new heights at Build Business, the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) annual conference in Washington D.C. Amy Collins, FSMPS, CPSM, Facilities Business Line marketing manager, was named an SMPS fellow, and the firm accepted the Trade Show Marketing Merit Award for its 2018 Uber Elevate Summit marketing and communications efforts.
Collins received the SMPS fellow designation during the Recognition | Inspiration | Success | Excellence Award Luncheon. A former president of SMPS Central Pennsylvania, she is an active volunteer at all levels of the organization and serves as a treasurer and trustee of the SMPS Foundation, where she also develops and conducts research projects.
“SMPS has been a cornerstone of my career,” said Collins, an SMPS member for nearly two decades. “It has provided me with professional growth opportunities, personal relationships, and new perspectives. As an SMPS fellow, I’m looking forward to leading the evolution of my profession, advocating for members, educating leaders, and elevating marketing and business development at Gannett Fleming.”
SMPS fellows represent the leading group of marketers in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry who have advanced the profession and SMPS through leadership roles, original research, and mentoring. With more than 7,000 SMPS members worldwide, just over 120 have achieved the level of fellow.
Further, SMPS honored Gannett Fleming at the 2019 Marketing Communications Awards, the longest-standing awards program of its kind. Gannett Fleming’s marketing and communications team created an engaging booth experience for the 2018 Uber Elevate Summit involving two videos, a virtual reality demonstration, custom conference microsite, and targeted collateral to reveal the firm’s innovative urban air mobility design solution, which includes an intermodal transportation hub that offers an easy-to-navigate space for passengers to access vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The conference exposure resulted in overwhelmingly positive earned media coverage from outlets such as CNN and CBS This Morning, as well as multiple speaking engagements.
