Former NJSP Leader Brings Emergency Management Expertise to Gannett Fleming

David Brady, former New Jersey State Police commanding officer, joins Gannett Fleming’s Security and Safety Practice as a senior analyst.

Gannett Fleming’s Security and Safety Practice welcomes former New Jersey State Police (NJSP) commanding officer David Brady to the firm as a senior analyst. An accredited training expert certified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Emergency Management Institute, Brady brings three decades of experience in homeland security, emergency management services, crisis management, public safety, and business continuity.

“David is well-versed in emergency management consulting services such as vulnerability assessments, security-and-safety-related analysis, and operational planning for emergency response or disaster recovery,” said McEwan van der Mandele, CPP, Gannett Fleming vice president. “His 30 years of hands-on experience provides our clients with unique perspective and vital understanding of emergency management to make our communities safer and provide continuous service.”

He most recently provided statewide emergency management services in direct support of the NJSP and Department of Homeland Security. He was deployed in response to natural disasters such as Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico and Hurricane Matthew in North Carolina. He also led incident management initiatives for Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey, the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, the inauguration of the President of the United States in Washington, D.C., and the Papal visit in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Brady earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Stony Brook University and a Master of Arts in human resources training and development from Seton Hall University. He received a certification from the National Incident Management System Training Program and is active in various professional organizations. His most prominent leadership roles include serving as a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police and as vice chair for the Federal Emergency Management Agency Regional Emergency Communications Coordination Working Group. Brady recently received the NJSP Certificate of Unit Commendation and the Certificate of Commendation.
