Diaz Expands Gannett Fleming’s Interior Design Services

Interior designer Maria Diaz brings more than 30 years of design experience to Gannett Fleming Architects, Inc., expanding the firm’s offerings. Diaz primarily provides interior design, architectural support and project management to clients in all of Gannett Fleming’s business lines.

Diaz has designed a wide range of spaces such as instructional auditoriums, laboratories, commons buildings, and student centers for higher education clients, including Messiah College, Shippensburg University, University of South Florida, and the Robert H. Smith School of Business at University of Maryland. Her specialized healthcare interior design experience includes acute care units, labor and delivery, office suites and lobbies for the National Institutes of Health, Institute for Genomic Research, Holy Spirit Hospital, and Easton Hospital, to name a few.

“Maria brings a new element to the level of architectural services we can provide to our valued clients,” said Charles Beauduy, AIA, FCSI, CCS, CCCA, LEED® AP, president of Gannett Fleming Architects, Inc. “She is an integral part of our plans to grow the architectural services division of Gannett Fleming.”

Most recently, Diaz served as a project manager for El Associates in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, working on educational institutions. She has been active with several community organizations including Rotary of Harrisburg. She served on the board of Habitat for Humanity, as well as performing field volunteer work. Diaz was a founding member of Harrisburg Urban Studio, and co-chair of the community liaison committee. She initiated the Box City program, which teaches basic architecture & urban planning concepts to the Harrisburg City school system. She also served on the board and marketing committee of the Broad Street Market and as chairperson of the “Greening of the Plaza” initiative.
