Nick Benedico, PE, PMP, AICP, a senior transportation manager for Gannett Fleming, has been named a vice president of the firm. Based in the Orlando, Florida, office, Benedico is responsible for delivering innovative solutions for the mobility challenges facing the firm’s Florida clients. He also is involved in the high-level management, strategic growth, and profitability of the company’s transportation operations across the state.
An accomplished engineering professional, Benedico’s career spans more than 25 years in Florida transportation. He possesses diverse knowledge of the Florida market and understands the key issues facing the statewide transportation community. Benedico has led some of the state’s most interesting assignments for agencies including the Florida Department of Transportation, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, Central Florida Expressway Authority, and various counties and municipalities. His portfolio includes the design and management of scores of projects, from small intersection improvements to complex expressways.
Benedico is a registered professional engineer in Florida and also holds the Project Management Professional and the American Institute of Certified Planners credentials. He earned a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University of Florida and a master of business administration from the University of Central Florida. Active in professional associations, Benedico is a member of the Florida Engineering Society, American Society of Civil Engineers, Project Management Institute, and American Planning Association.
